Judy never ceases to amaze! She bought our Needle Felting an Heirloom Santa CD and made this gorgeous traditional Santa Doll!

Judy Taylor Woody, Needle Felted Santa
Hi, Marie! I finally finished Santa this evening!! Spare time has been in short supply lately, so I’m a bit behind in my Christmas project plans, but I just love the way this little guy turned out. I really dressed him up under his coat in dark green pants, black boots, black vest with three little buttons and a white sweater. I opted for a hat instead of a hood. Happily, everything came out just the way I envisioned. I still need to touch up here and there, and I want to put him on a platform with a little Christmas tree, etc., but I did want to send you the first pictures. Your instructional CD was a wonderful inspiration! There were so many great tips and helpful suggestions in addition to the easy-to-follow directions. I’m so happy that I tried this! Santa is my second doll and is surely a marked improvement over my first. Thanks, Marie!!
Here he is! Making the display was so much fun….just suffered some impatience waiting for the wood base to dry. The little felted “package” at Santa’s feet plays ‘White Christmas” when pressed. Everything is loose, so the pieces can be changed if I find something else that I like more. Later I might make some things in polymer clay. All my current items are 1:12 or 1:24 scale, too small. I drilled a hole for a removable dowel, which on it’s own holds Santa standing. His coat is loose to about mid back, so I slip him over the dowel between his body and the coat. Thought that I’d need to secure him to the dowel, but it wasn’t necessary. Now my only worry is dust!
Anyway, I wanted you to see him completed. Thanks again so much, Marie.
