Another FABULOUS Needle Felted Glitter Girl Doll by Sue Hale…Meet Meanie!
Look at those fingers! She is truly a character and so very well done.
“Hi Marie et al – I wanted to send you a photo of the latest addition to the GlitterGirl family. She was contructed again using the “Constructing a Character Doll” tutorial.
She is felted with a wire armature (using the 18g. cloth covered wire from Living Felt) and her headpiece is actually made
using the varigated purple roving and instructions from the Simple Felted Flower Kit.
After the sweet-faced “Granny Opal” that was my first character doll kit from LF – Beulah turned out a bit more cantankerous looking, face-wise.
What really struck me after seeing the two side by side for a few days was the realization that I had created symbolic renditions of both of my grandmothers!
Granny Opal signifies my mother’s mother and was the epitome of everything you believe Grandmas should be – soft, sweet and ready to hold you on their lap at a moment’s notice. On the other hand, Beulah would be symbolic of my dad’s mother who could be quite querulous and prickly!! What a Freudian epiphany!!!
Enjoying your products as always” – Sue Hale
