I would LOVE to try and make this! We are expecting our first child, and the nursery is decorated in primitive sheep. I would like a crib mobile made out of maybe 5 of them. I am a first-time felter, so what all would I need to get started and to make these little guys?

Hi Ann,
I used core fiber for an oval body felting it into shape and then made legs and head by wrapping the white corriedale around a small wooden dowel, then felted them into shape. I added the legs to the body felting really good and adjusting so sheep stands straight. To make the ears I felted pieces of the white corriedale into ovals with semi-pointed ends and added a pink to the middle part and then felted them to the head. I used black corriedale for the eyes and nose and then attached the head to the body. ThenI covered the body and “seams” of legs and head wth cotswold felting it good so it stays and added a little bell and ribbon.
I would say for 5 sheep (approx size: 4″l x 3 1/2″ h) about 4 oz cotswold and 4 oz white corriedale and 1 oz of black corriedale and 4 oz of core fiber.
