Beautiful Needle Felted Barn Owl
This amazing life sized barn owl was needle felted by Erin Carlson of Pennsylvania! Erin shared with us that she first began
needle felting just under one year ago using a Living Felt artist’s pack and that she has a “lot of fun doing it“; it really shows!
Notice the incredible attention to detail and how well she captured the natural pose you expect to witness in this brilliant creature.
Erin tells us how she made it, “I started with a heavy wire to create the frame and then built up the body with core wool.”
She used Living Felt Core Wool, New Zealand Corriedale Pilgrim’s Harvest and New Zealand Corriedale White.
Erin was recently featured as an Emerging Artist in the 2013 Three River Arts Festival. Congratulations, Erin, and well deserved!
