Stunning Wet and Needle Felted Mixed Media Shawl
Lois Lahman Nuno felted this gorgeous shawl using a variety of rovings such as merino tops, silks and angora. After nuno felting
the fibers to a silk base, she adding detail and texture with needle felting, embroidery, quilting and beading. To complete the piece,
she lined it with silk, added a blanket stitch to the edges and a fringe on each end.
Lois cannot raise sheep where she lives, but this piece brings her a warm vision for a spring in the country — warm thoughts during a cold winter.
If this shawl looks familiar, then you probably saw her previous lighthouse piece– which is just as beautiful and as wonderfully detailed!
