Sonja Weeks-Oswalt combines her passion for creative explorations and service to others through her art.
This beautiful, one of a kind 8 x 10 portrait of a young Mexican girl is entirely hand made of 100 percent carded wool on a background of 100 percent wool. Sonja uses Living Felt MC-1 Felting Batts and New Zealand Corriedale for her work.

“I freehand all of my fiber art portraits, and use photographs of unknown children as inspiration, combining them to produce a unique child’s likeness. These works of art are 3D relief works.”

I began working on these portraits out of a deep love for the children I sponsor through Compassion International. Proceeds from my sales go to Compassion to support the Christ-centered work they do to provide hope and relieve poverty across the globe, one child at a time.
