Felted ACEO and Felted Art Makes Great Gifts!

Felted ACEO by Sue Forey Fibre Art

Spring blossom and bluebells are the subject of this original felt ACEO, by artist Sue Forey of the UK.
ACEO means “Art Cards Editions and Originals” and since they are very small (3.5″ w x 2.5″ h)
they are a really affordable way to collect art and to share your own art!

Sue says, “At this time of year they lift the heart and show that summer is just around the corner.”
This miniature artwork is highly textured and includes hand stitched french knots used to suggest blossom and seed stitching amongst the bluebells.

The felt has been bonded to card and the edge neatened with hand stitched blanket stitch.

Slightly larger, yet just as quaint and certainly as sweet is this 5″ x 7″ felted flower painting.
Small felt flower picture made from organic merino wool fibres. This is a wet felted picture with  silk fibres included
in the felt and free machine stitching added for extra texture and detail. It is a very tactile piece.
The image of a simple, yellow vase of red flowers is on a blue background and would suit traditional or modern decor.

Felted art in the form of a wall hanging or “painting” makes a wonderful gift for yourself or someone you love!

This full size textile art landscape, also by Sue Forey, was made using the wet felting method and machine stitching was added afterwards.
It shows a group of sheep drinking from a stream and a stand of silver birches on the other side of the stream.
In the background is a little cottage and rolling hills. The sky was made by laying down fine layers of merino fibres and silks before felting which gives the impression of clouds with the sun shining from behind them. This felt art comes already stretched on to an artists canvas
and does not need to be framed. The felt goes all around the sides of the canvas.
