Upcycled One-of-A-Kind Sweaters make great gifts for Children!

Upcycled Wool Sweater with Needle Felted Design for Child at Screen Door Studios
This sweet Cat and Mouse Sweater was felted by Karen Canino, artist at Screen Door Studios
in Fort Collins (FTC) – a gathering place for Artists and patrons, to partake in an eclectic creative environment.  The Screen Door is an inclusive eco-responsible exhibition space for quality artworks from diverse inventors.

An adult’s 100%  wool sweater can be shrunk to a child size by washing it in hot water. Often people call  this “felting”…but really, we are “fulling”, or further shrinking the wool fabric. Surely we have all done this  quite unintentionally! Then the sweater can be cut, here the artist has added some cool zipper treatments  and adorned her sweaters with needle felted wool. Awesome.

While there is no mention in the etsy shop of which artist created the pieces, we have confirmed they are the work of Screen Door founder,
Karen Canino. We especially appreciate that themes seem to cater to both boys and girls.
