A huge congratulations to Erin Whalen for being featured in the Winter Issue of Art Doll Quarterly!
“I’ve been published in the Winter Edition of Art Doll Quarterly Stampington & Company. My gnomes received a 3-page spread and they even featured my name on the cover. In the second page of the article, I gave a big Shout Out to Marie Spaulding, Silke Sordyl, and Peter McMasters. Thank you for being such great mentors and patient teachers!”

It has been a felty-full week at LF!
Last Saturday, we had full workshop for needle felting simple animals. We had 11 bunnies and a fox … missed a few pics, but here is a glimpse at our fun bunch of humans and furry felties!
On Friday, we had a fabulous time Needle Felting Gnomes! What a great job these gals did!!
Did you catch our WOOLY WEDNESDAY BROADCAST?
We had so much FUN visiting with you all! If you missed it…you can still see it in our fb group…AND You can pause it and comment. Your comments will be in line with other comments that came in at the same time!
We answered questions, and gave demonstrations, we gave away fun prizes and did show-n-tells of things made by our community members…it was a blast.
Our plan was to do this once a month…but after this week, we are going to “shoot for” 2x a month. 🙂
Next Wooly Wed. is scheduled for WED, FEB 1st at 2pm CST
Broadcast is in our fb group: LIVING FELT FRIENDS
How about this little Santa?! Isn’t he Fabulous?!
“I just finished my Living Felt Santa Claus kit it was so much fun I have started a second one. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow while giving the freedom to explore my own artistry.”

Check out this awesome Gnome Bottle Topper!
“I just completed this bottle topper so I could use my dog’s fur on something! First of all, I won’t use it any more…the static was so bad I couldn’t even get it off my HANDS! So anyway, I asked hubby to hold it for a photo shoot. I didn’t PLAN on making the gnome look like my husband, HONEST!!!”

This very handsome fellow is “Gimmel,” a smartly dressed little gnome by the talented Erin Whalen.
“His core is made from LF Corriedale and also wool from one of my own sheep, Babby. His beard and hair are made from Wensleydale locks. His clothing, including his tiny Concertina hat, are wet felted from Merino. He’s about 8 inches tall.”

Selling at craft shows requires the artist to stock up ahead of time, that means felting Santas and other fun stuff months before Christmas!
This little cutie was felted by Kristin Johnson-Ray using MC-1 Felting Batts in True Red, Black Onyx, Sand and Cotton White. His hat is wired so he can hang on a branch 🙂
“I really love your fast felting batts, they help make the work go so much easier and faster!
“Thank you Living Felt for shipping all my orders so promptly. I couldn’t make it through the busy Holiday season without your wonderful wool!”
– Kristin Johnson-Ray
Erin Whalen of Wisconsin recently shared some of her precious needle felted gnomes with us….they are so sweet, we just had to share them with you as well!
“Inspiration: I recently learned some new techniques at a workshop
I took from Silke Sordyl of Fairyfelt. She’s an extremely talented needle felter
and an awesome teacher. And, I live on a 10-acre farm with many beautiful trees, ferns,
hostas, birds, woodland critters, my fiber animals and my horses.
With nature all around, every day is inspiring!
Supplies Used: Living Felt MC1 (for body core) + wool from my own sheep.
Living Felt locks for hair, beards, and outer clothing include: Mohair, Teeswater,
Lincoln Longwool, BFL, and Wensleydale.
Thank you for your consideration.”
