Jaylyn Wins a Felting Goody Box!
Materials used: Living Felt MC-1 ‘Vintage Red’, Merino ‘Begonia’, MC-1 Cross color for hair, dyed locks for the Edwardian style dress I was aiming for, and an old paper flower crown that I used to wear until it broke. Posing on antique doilies that a relative tatted several generations ago

Talk about thinking outside the box! This hat Rocks!
“I am bringing the 60’s back with my “beehive” hat!! :). It’s made from Living Felt core, the needle felting hat kit deluxe in summer and flowers, the 4 needle tool, a little bit of butterscotch Merino, and lots of flowers I had in my stock. The bees came from a get well bouquet of flowers I received from a work friend after my recent hip surgery. Does this scream Spring or what? :)”

We love the vibrant colors and all of the wonderful detail in this piece…right down to the shading of the birdhouse pole.
“Hello! I made this felt picture called “Kandi’s Garden” during the March snowstorm we received here in Pa. Even though we are surrounded by 18 inches of snow, this picture reminds me that spring is right around the corner! Your wonderful Merino [MC-1 Merino Cross] wool was used to make it.

“I needle felted and wet felted this water lily and lily pad one petal at a time and then sewed it together as they were very felted. I felted each stamen and then waxed them for smoothness. During the wet felting I rinsed with lavender oil! “

These amazing creations were made by Vera Runova of Minnesota! Originally from Kazakhstan, Vera was familiar with wet felting the traditional Kazakh “yurtas.” She said, “I never thought that felt could be amazingly light, beautiful, bright colored and be putty in your hands.” We couldn’t agree more Vera!
In all these creations, Vera wet felts her base, then needle felts the finishing touches to give panache.
This beautiful poppy was wet felted with Living Felt New Zealand Pack Spanish Fiesta. The detail is just amazing!
Vera is new to felting but you would never be able to tell! Her wonderful creations are an inspiration to us all!
Thank you Vera for sharing your wonderful and amazing felted projects!
Vera uses a lot of merino top in her projects, and you can try the Living Felt kit for Wet Felting Flowers to make your own!
